Nationally, there is evidence that extended services can help to:
- improve pupil attainment, self-confidence, motivation and attendance;
- reduce exclusion rates;
- better enable teachers to focus on teaching and learning;
-
enhance children's and families access to services.
During school inspections, Ofsted will report on how extended services are contributing to improved outcomes for children and young people.
Many schools in Ealing are already seeing the benefits of offering extended services for pupils and families. We are gathering together case studies from local schools to show how extended services are being developed in Ealing and the impact they are having for families. Watch this space for more details!
We are always keen to promote and share good practice so if you have an example of an extended service that you’d like to be included then please get in touch with one of the team.
